Teaching and Learning Resource Funding Scheme  2023

Applications are invited for funding of the development of teaching and learning resources for Irish medium schools and for the teaching of Irish in all schools in the areas noted below and in other areas relating to COGG’s statutory functions:

  • Teaching and learning resources, for example, digital solutions and games, which will support pupils and students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), at primary and post-primary level in Gaeltacht and Irish-medium schools

 

  • Newly composed reading material in different genres, for different age levels, at primary and post-primary level

 

  • Large reading books for shared reading (primary level)

 

  • Online/digital resources to support with the teaching and learning through Irish, with the teaching and learning of Irish, and with digital literacy in primary and post-primary schools

 

  • Supports and resources for transition year programmes in post-primary Gaeltacht and Irish-medium schools

 

  • Resources to support transferring from primary to post-primary level

Research Bursaries 2023

COGG welcomes applications from individual researchers or institutes to undertake research (as a long-term or short-term research project) in one of these areas:

  • Teaching of modern and heritage languages in Gaeltacht and Irish-medium primary schools – advice, methodologies and needs

 

  • Enrichment and development of Irish (speech, reading, writing, listening, and verbal interaction) for native speakers, in Gaeltacht and Irish-medium schools (primary and post-primary)

 

  • Possibilities and influence of video learning in Gaeltacht and Irish-medium schools, and the possibilities for the learning of Irish in all schools (primary and post-primary)

 

  • An investigation of research funded by COGG in the organisation’s archive: executive summary of the main messages at primary level – conclusions and proposals

 

  • An investigation of research funded by COGG in the organisation’s archive: executive summary of the main messages at post-primary level – conclusions and proposals

 

  • Effective assessment in Gaeltacht and Irish-medium schools (primary and post-primary)

 

  • The teaching of Irish in schools teaching through the medium of English (primary and post-primary)
